Brothers – The dues for next year have not changed -- $90 for regular masons and $60 for life members. However, what has not changed is the fact that many brothers do not meet their financial responsibility. Dues are due by the first of the year. We have 15 brothers who still owe for this year and some from the year before. Also 5 brothers were unaffiliated for non payment of dues. This is grossly unfair, not only to those brothers who pay on time, but to yourself-- because you have violated your obligation “I will not wrong, cheat nor defraud a Fellowcraft Lodge to the value of anything …” Remember?
ABOUT YOUR DUES PAYMENT
Several brothers have questioned their dues, so here is an explanation I hope answers those questions
The dues payment is comprised of 2 parts: the Jephtha Lodge dues and the Grand Lodge per capita tax. The Jephtha Lodge dues are $60.00 for a regular member or $30.00 for a life member; and the Grand Lodge per capita is $30.00.
So a regular member owes $60 + $30 = $90.00, and a life member owes $30 + $30 = $60.00.
You must be at least 70 years old, a Master Mason for at least 30 years and a member of Jephtha lodge for at least 20 years to become a life member.
FUNERALS
A note of importance: Please notify your "next of kin", or whom ever you designate as your survivor to inform the Lodge when you have passed on and whether or not a Masonic funeral is requested. Your apron should be delivered to the funeral home where the Masonic funeral is to take place, as it is to be placed on your coffin during the ceremony. This will save the family the embarrassment of wondering why no one seemed to care about their Masonic Brother by not attending the funeral or at least acknowledging it, only to find out that no one knew. It will also stop further correspondence and dues requests from the Lodge.
We have been unable to reach three brothers. If you have any information on the following brothers, please inform the Secretary:
